DESCRIPTION:Aug 8-10\, at Poulsbo\, WA \nGround Zero Center for Nonviolent Action plans pandemic-shaped events for HIROSHIMA-NAGASAKI 75TH REMEMBRANCE: “Abolish Nuclear Weapons – Environmental Justice Now!” \n  \nSaturday\, August 8th -Setup of GZ grounds: awnings\, washing station\, signs\, etc. -Peacewalkers from the Nipponzan Myohoji Buddhist Temple arrive in the afternoon -GZ grounds open for camping. House closed. Portable toilets\, water\, and washing stations available. \n  \nSunday\, August 9th -10:00-11:00 (approximate) Keynote presentation by Ramona Bennett\, Member of Puyallup Tribe and environmental activist\, on climate justice and environmental racism. This will be a virtual event broadcast via Zoom meeting\, either at GZ with a small audience of 5\, or from her home in Tacoma. -11:00-11:30: Q & A session and discussion NOTE: 3 PM NONVIOLENCE TRAINING IS CANCELLED.  Ongoing: commemorations of the Nagasaki bombing during the day; some online activities may overlap with keynote address. -5:00: Japanese Buddhist ceremony in remembrance of the 75th anniversary of the Nagasaki atomic bombing and its victims. -Afternoon and evening: camping and informal distanced groups on the GZ grounds. This is when vigil locations and activities will be finalized. \n  \nMonday\, August 10th -6:00 AM: gather at GZ for the walk to the Main Gate\, or drive to the Trigger Avenue gate and vigil. People may go straight to the Main Gate\, the overpass\, or to Trigger to vigil in small groups. Base security and law enforcement will be notified. -8;30 or 9:00 approximately: Walk back to GZ\, distanced closing circle with short debrief\, tidy the grounds\, depart. \n  \nGUIDELINES: -Wear a mask\, wash hands -Minimal shouting\, singing\, chanting -No gatherings of more than 5 people.
