Marshall Islands Nuclear Remembrance Week
From March 15-20 there will be a series of events to honor frontline communities impacted by the development of nuclear weapons. March 15th to 19th, 5:30-7:30pm PST: Story sessions by nuclear frontline communities, including intergenerational perspectives of the remaining Survivors from the Marshall Islands nuclear legacy Monday, March 15, 5:30 - 7:30 PM. Spokane Marshallese Community. Featuring remarks from President David Kabua of the Republic of the Marshall Islands and an Intergenerational Panel with Marshallese Elders and Youth. Tuesday, March 16, 5:30 - 7:30 PM. Washington Nuclear Justice Panel. This Panel will include Trisha Pritikin, Hanford Downwinder; Twa-le Abrahamson-Swan, Sovereignty Health Air Water Land Society; and Samantha Redhawk, Technical Staff at the Yakama Nation Restoration & Waste Management Program. Wednesday, March 17, 5:30 - 7:30 PM. National Nuclear Justice Panel. This Panel will include Keith Kiefer, National Commander of National Association of Atomic Veterans; Susan Gordon, Multicultural Alliance for a Safe Environment; Robert Celestial, Pacific Association of Radiation Survivors; and Tina Cordova, Tularosa Basin Downwinders Consortium.
