ABRAHAM'S LAND, the musical,  a provocative theatrical production addressing the tragic and persistent Israeli-Palestinian conflict.  FINALLY(!) it will have a full-scale production, live audience and livestreaming at the Kirkland Performance Center, July 15-18, 2021!  I hope you can join us in person to celebrate, ideally on opening night, Thursday July 15, at 7 PM,  or if you live out of town, catch a livestreamed performance! Initially scheduled to open at Broadway Performance Hall, September 2020, it was, of course, cancelled due to COVID restrictions. We have a stellar, nationally-recruited, multi-racial cultural cast that features lead performers of Jewish-American, Israeli & Palestinian-American heritage.  Learn more about the cast and production at our show website, www.abrahamslandmusical.com, and also at www.Kpcenter.org,  where you can purchase tickets for either live attendance or livestream viewing. We want to reach a large audience with diverse points of view, and allow a safe place to share their voice, from within the audience and globally remotely.  PeaceKeepers will monitor audience for disrupters. Thu, July 15, 11 AM – preview – livestream to Israel & Palestine (where it will be 8 PM) Thu, July 15, 7 PM – opening – followed by a reception Fri July 16, 7 PM Sat July 17, 7 PM  (preceded by  a 6 PM pre-show lecture by Alaa Hammouda, public health advocate and mother, talking about the current situation in Gaza.) Sun July 18,  2 PM closing All performances July 15-18 will also be livestreamed nationally and internationally.  We have an option for every time zone! Tickets $39 general admission, $25 students and seniors, with $20 rush (and TPS members) and $5 TeenTIx. There are also discounts for groups of ten or more. For group purchases, contact the box office at 425) 893-9900 or box1@kpcenter.org. All patrons must wear masks.  We are offering regular and socially distanced seating options (as well as livestream viewing). If you would like to help support the project, you may make a tax-deductible donation via Fractured Altas. https://fundraising.fracturedatlas.org/abraham-s-land

Depolarization Within Workshop, online

July 17
Zoom, on internet

WWFOR & BRAVER ANGELS WORKSHOP Sat July 17, online, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM, Zoom information will be provided to registrants.  Registration open at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/depolarizing-within-standard-wa-wwafor-open-to-public-registration-154152196369 Depolarization Within Workshop, description from the Braver Angels website: What is a Depolarizing Within Workshop? The Depolarizing Within Workshop is designed to foster skills to help you lessen the effects of polarization when you encounter them in your political conversations. Note that by “polarization,” we are not referring to healthy disagreements over issues or philosophy. We are talking about how we regard and talk about large groups of ordinary people on the other side of the political aisle. Who Can Attend? Anyone interested in examining their own inner polarization and learning strategies to disagree without condemning or ridiculing others. Goals: To teach participants: * How to be critical without demonizing, dismissing or stereotyping large swaths of the population. * How to be more aware of their own “inner polarizer.” * Strategies for intervening constructively in social conversations with like-minded peers when these conversations veer into contempt and ridicule for people who hold other political views. Workshop Fee: Donations to Braver Angels accepted. An introductory sample of concepts and information to be covered in the full 3-hour workshop can be found watching the Braver Angel video presentation on the WWFOR website, from WWFOR's 2021 Spring Assembly. Registration:  Please register at Depolarizing Within - Standard (WA / WWAFoR) - Open to Public Registration, Sat, Jul 17, 2021 at 9:30 AM | Eventbrite , information David Lambert: lambertdavid39@gmail.com.   You can also contact WWFOR at 206-789-5565.
