ENDING POLITICAL VIOLENCE

Sun Oct 20, 6:30-8:30 pm Pacific time, Zoom

Everyone is welcome to join us for a program planned by Olympia Chapter Fellowship of Reconciliation and co-sponsored by Tacoma and Seattle Chapters about ending political violence.

Our presenter will be a trainer from HOPE-PV, Harnessing Our Power to End Political Violence, https://www.endpoliticalviolence.org/ .

“The HOPE-PV Project is the culmination of many organizations and individuals from across the country who have joined forces to better understand the problem of political violence and strategize and mobilize together across many lines of difference.”

“Political violence—and threats of political violence—are a direct assault on US democracy, the Constitution, and the rights and freedoms of people across the nation. They do enormous damage, and they are increasing.  … HOPE-PV is an initiative for individuals and groups across the US who are fed up with this. It’s for people who recognize the dire stakes that political violence and threats create for our country, and who want to work together nonviolently to protect our communities and uphold democracy. A key to doing so is by making threats and political violence backfire against perpetrators and those who encourage them. We need to stand up to those who want to silence our voices, who try to deny us our rights, and who aim to bully their way into political influence through intimidation and violence.
