Interested in taking action beyond marching and calling your legislators? Join other community members to learn and practice Nonviolent Civil Disobedience
What is nonviolent civil disobedience? Direct action meant to stand up and challenge the state. Together we will learn the principles of nonviolent disobedience, including:
- How to keep each other safe during a blockade
- How to strategize for an occupation
- What to do if police deploy tear gas or dogs, or use batons,
- Learn other tactics to force social and political change.
The immediate goal is to ready more people who can quickly deploy in response to the growing fascism we are witnessing daily. Since space is limited, you must sign up for this event.
This event is being organized by grass roots activists in our community who are working on issues such as immigrant rights, police accountability, prodemocracy, and elections. Rev. Osagyefo Sekou, pastor of Theology and Arts at Seattle’s Valley and Mountain Fellowship will be our trainer.
