Malachi Spells attends college in Chicago, Illinois, where he has previously worked with the Rainbow Push Coalition.
I am working on a project concerning gentrification in Chicago due to higher education institutions. Universities located in Chicago, such as: UIC, DePaul, University of Chicago and Loyola, have had a violent history of uprooting neighboring communities of color in the city. I am working on bringing awareness to this issue and helping these communities fight back against displacement.
